Killing Dog Fleas - The Way To Do It

August 4th, 2010

Oh boy, here we are, its Summer time and the fleas are out in numbers! What to do? We generally lover the summer months; however it is such a headache dealing with fleas. The battle against fleas can seem like an uphill battle and some have all but given up thinking it an impossible task of Killing Dog Fleas or just keeping them under control.

Is that how it really is? Not if you know the secrets. You see, you need a flea control plan. So many people fail to control fleas because they don’t think and plan the process through.

You see, there are multiple ways to get rid of fleas. Most do not understand the life cycle of fleas. I would be quite simple if you only had to deal with the fleas themselves.

But guess what? Killing off only the adult fleas will not solve your problem completely. There is more you must fight. Did you know you must also deal with the eggs, larva and pupae from which the fleas develop? If you are only treating your pets and the areas for killing dog fleas without thinking of the real source, you will be fighting a losing battle. Don’t get caught up in a “mission impossible”.

Think it through. Your choice of a flea-control product plays an important role. The wrong product will only do half the job and perhaps cause more harm to your pet or even to children. There are many anti-flea products available in the market but your choice depends on which stage of life the flea is in. Some products are effective only against adult fleas while other will be effective in killing off eggs, larvae etc.

Another part of the flea infestation battle many people fail to engage is the battle of fleas in other parts of the home or area where pets live. If you just treat your pet, you miss most of the battle. People spot fleas on their pets and assume that’s where the problem is, and forget everything else.

Aggressively people apply one flea product after another after another on their pets. Little do they know there are thousands more around the pet’s living environment just waiting to jump back onto poor Rover the dog or Tabby the cat.

So in your pursuit to killing dog fleas, remember why treating or taking care of the surrounding environment is just as important in your war against these pests. A flea control battle plan involves dealing with the fleas totality is vital. Remember this list when you are killing fleas:

Use the right products and know the difference
Treat your pets
Treat your house and surrounding environment, gardens and yards; anywhere you pets may play.

This is your battle plan to killing dog fleas.
