Raising And Selling Parrots From Home

November 25th, 2010

What is Parrot Place

Have you ever wondered exactly what it means to be a Parrot Place Affiliate or to purchase a parrot from one of these affiliate locations? Did you ever wonder what exactly “Parrot Place” is?

Parrot Place History

Parrot Place was started over twenty years ago by a gentleman out of New Jersey. He had the vision of training parrot people throughout the country to raise and sell parrots in a home for a home. This process enables the parrots to be raised in a stress free environment and in the controlled setting of a home. All of our locations operate by appointment only which affords one on one attention to all visitors.

His idea was to work with high quality breeding facilities for their supply of birds and fill in the gap between breeding facility and parrot owners. Many large facilities do not have the time to spend taking the babies to the next level of development. That is where Parrot Place Affiliates take over.

This requires the training of affiliate Parrot Place locations throughout the country on the proper raising and nurturing of parrots. The process begins with a training manual, training videos and audio CD’s. Continuing education is achieved through ongoing education provided via our “Parrot Place Community” website. This website is only available to Certified and Authorized Parrot Place Affiliates.

What We Stand For

All Parrot Place Affiliates are dedicated to educating their customers. We all make sure that potential parrot owners understand the commitment that it takes to have a parrot as a companion. All potential parrot owners that purchase from a Parrot Place Affiliate understand the good AND the bad of any particular species they are contemplating purchasing as a pet.

We know that people are going to purchase parrots. We want to ensure that when a parrot goes to a new home that he/she will stay in that home ‘til death do they part. It is our belief that if a parrot is purchased from one of our affiliate locations that the parrot will stand a much better chance of keeping its home.

Parrot Place Affiliates do NOT try to sell a bird to their customers just because that is a bird that they have for sale. All affiliates are required to help match a bird to the customer’s lifestyle. We have all heard the stories of a bird purchase from other sources that ends in disaster. It is due to the fact that the customer has not done their homework and was not educated by the store owner or breeder as to what to expect when sharing their life and home with a parrot.

RestrictedNourish The Wild Birds

January 6th, 2010

There are many dreams for things you can do with your children during the summer months, but you could fall short on nature activities in the winter because you are limited by the weather and the temperature. The normal winter things to do comprise sledding, skiing, and building snow creations, but you do not have as much in the way of communication with your natural world as you do in the summer. If you want to get the natural world close to your habitat, feeding them in the winter is the way to go. In fact, for great fun with your kids that can be quite an education as well, think about feeding wild birds in your yard.

Birds will approach in the summer if you put out bird seed, but feeding parakeet birds in the winter is much more pleasurable because more birds will draw closer. They do not have the same selection of natural provisions sources available to them in the winter when the snow is covering the ground as they do in the summer when everything is uncovered, fresh, and green. Not only will you get more birds in the winter months, you will get a larger diversity of birds, some of which you could have in no way seen before.

You have to have a relatively silence area for feeding wild birds if you want to get a lot of them. You can do this if you live in town, but you do want to be on a quiet street. If you live in a more rural area, you are going to have the most chance. When finding your lawn is just too full of activity most of the time, see if you know someone with land that would let you feed food wild birds there. You can put out your seed and then go there when you have the time to see what kinds of birds show up.

Feeding wild birds can be done in a few different ways. You can put up bird houses that dispense provisions or you can simply throw the provisions out on your yard. Make sure you throw it out after it is done snowing rather than in the middle of a storm or your feed provisions is going to be covered and will not do you much good. Once a good snow has fallen and the storm has passed, birds are searching for food and they will find it in your yard. Expect to see many neat birds in all various colors.

throw your seed out where you can comfy sit and observe to see what birds approach to your lawn or your bird feeders. You can find books on feeding wild birds that will help you identify which birds have come to eat what you have laid out. think of that there are numerous types of seed that will attract various types of birds so see what is out there and get some of each to get the biggest selection of birds into your yard. They will think of where they found food, so if you put it out time and time once more, they will approach see you again for sure.
